V60 brewing guide

At Mikko Coffee, we believe in the magic of a perfectly brewed cup of coffee. We've put together this V60 brewing guide to help you craft the perfect cup at home. Let's get started!

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

• A V60 coffee dripper
• V60 coffee filter papers
• 30g of Mikko Coffee, ground medium-fine
• 500g of water, just off the boil (around 96°C)
• A timer
• A coffee server or mug
• A coffee grinder (optional, but recommended for best results)
• A kitchen scale (optional, but highly recommended for precision)

STEP-BY-STEP GUIDE:

STEP 1: PREPARE YOUR EQUIPMENT

Start by placing the V60 dripper on top of your server or mug. Next, fold the V60 filter paper along the seam and place it in the dripper. Rinse the filter with hot water to remove any paper taste and preheat the equipment. Be sure to discard the rinse water before brewing.

STEP 2: MEASURE AND GRIND YOUR COFFEE

Measure out 30g of your favorite Mikko coffee. The grind size should be medium-fine - similar to table salt. If you're grinding your coffee fresh, now is the time to do it. Freshly ground coffee will always give you the best flavor.

STEP 3: ADD COFFEE AND START THE TIMER

Add the ground coffee to the filter and give it a gentle shake to level the bed of coffee. Start your timer as soon as you begin pouring water.

STEP 4: THE BLOOM

Pour about 60g of hot water over the coffee, ensuring all grounds are saturated. This allows the coffee to "bloom" - a key step for brewing fresh coffee. Let it bloom for about 30 seconds.

STEP 5: CONTINUE POURING WATER

Start pouring the rest of the water in slow, concentric circles - try to avoid pouring directly onto the filter. Stop pouring when your scale reads 500g or when you've used all of your water. The total brew time should be between 2.5 to 3 minutes.

STEP 6: ENJOY YOUR COFFEE

Once the water has filtered through the coffee and the drip slows to a stop, remove the dripper from the server or mug. Your coffee is now ready to enjoy!

We hope this V60 brewing guide helps you craft a beautiful cup of coffee. Remember, brewing is an art - don't be afraid to experiment and adjust to taste. Happy brewing from all of us at Mikko Coffee!
